The superb mas provençal that i'm marketing in Bagnols-en-Forêt, South of France, is an exceptional property, distinguished not only by its freestone architecture and vast 3-hectare wooded park, but also by its rich artistic past. The house was designed by Belgian couturier Jules François Crahay, former artistic director of the Lanvin fashion house. It was also decorated with a mural by painter Michel Lablais, probably dating from 1974-75.

Michel Lablais (1925-2017) is a French artist renowned for his prolific career. After studying at the Arts Appliqués in Paris, he traveled in Asia and the South Pacific, experiences that influenced his art. Since 1956, he has exhibited regularly in France, the United States, Belgium and Germany. His work has been shown in prestigious institutions such as the Museum of Modern Art in New York and the Musée d'Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris. Michel Lablais is also known for his illustrations of literary texts, notably those by Rimbaud and Andrée Chédid.

The presence of a mural by Michel Lablais in this mas adds a unique dimension to the property, testifying to its long history as an artist's home. This work harmoniously integrates contemporary art with the authenticity of the Provencal setting, offering future owners a centerpiece that will leave no one indifferent.
